EHIMS Student Council

What is Student Council?

In a school, kids need to feel that they have a say in what is happening around them and that their opinions are valued. Student Council is an organization that can create a means for students’ opinions and ideas to be heard and implemented. The purpose of EHIMS Student Council is to involve all students in the democratic process through representative government, to promote positive school spirit and family, and to help students get involved in projects for our school, community and the world.

How can I be involved?

Students can be involved in the EHIMS Student Council by running to be one of your academic team’s representative. Students who serve on student council during their 6th grade year have the option of serving again during their 7th grade year without proceeding through the election process a second time. We currently have SEVEN returning student council members. There will be THREE representatives from 6 Blue and 6 Silver with TWO reps from 6 White. For 7 Blue and 7 Silver there will be TWO representatives and ONE rep from 7 White. There will be a total of 20 members on Student Council. If elected, you would represent your academic team on Student Council.

What do I do first?

If you are interested in becoming a part of the EHIMS Student Council you need to talk to your advisory teacher, Mrs. Hales or Mrs. T. They will give you the Application Form, Election Guidelines and the Calendar of Events. All Applications are due to Mrs. Hales or Mrs. T by Friday,
SEPTEMBER 30, 2009.
